Windows computers that run Retrospect

  • Intel Pentium class processor (1.5 GHz recommended)
  • 256 MB RAM (512 MB or more recommended)
  • Hard disk with 1 GB free
  • Network backup requires TCP/IP networking
  • Retrospect Professional: Windows Vista (32-bit), Windows XP, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows 98 SE/Me

Supported backup devices

Retrospect Continuous Backup Professional System Requirements:

  • Operating Systems (32-bit only): Microsoft Windows Vista (any edition), Microsoft Windows XP Professional (SP2 or higher), Microsoft Windows XP Home, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (SP4 or higher)
  • Memory: Recommended: 64 MB RAM above operating system and application requirements.
  • Disk Space: 15 MB hard disk space required after Microsoft Windows is installed (typical installation). The Version Store requires additional space on the system disk. Its size depends on the editing activity of the user and whether Snapshot Protection is used to protect files such as Outlook Personal Folders. A typical user will require approximately the following hard disk space for their local repository: 100 MB for Continuous File Protection, 500 MB for Open File Protection (used temporarily).
